Problem
This personal project was inspired by my own experience as a novice gardener. Buying seeds and plants felt overwhelming — I was getting lost among dozens of open tabs, unsure which varieties to order for my climate and conditions.
I saw an opportunity to simplify this process and designed a personalization feature for online gardening stores. It guides customers to the plant varieties most likely to thrive in their gardens.
Solution
Polly is designed to save time and minimize user drop off. Each product page features an interactive tool that helps determine whether a plant is well-suited to your garden conditions. If not, Polly suggests similar plants that are a better fit.
Visuals
I designed the visuals inspired by pollinators. Native, pollinator-friendly plants are among the most resilient and easiest to grow, making them perfect for beginner gardeners. Additionally, they play a crucial role in supporting declining pollinator populations. This connection inspired me to create this playful brand and name it "Polly".
